Synoptic charts are used by meteorologists to help forecast the weather. In this task, you will need to find 10 different synoptic symbols and find out what each of them mean. You will then find the synoptic forecast for your chosen city and you will try to interpret it using the knowledge of what the symbols on the map mean.
In the second part of the lesson, you will go on the Bureau of Meteorology website and you will find the observational weather data for your chosen capital for the last seven days. You will collect information for minimum and maximum temperatures, rainfall and sunshine for each of the seven days and also find the average for each of the variables over the seven days.
